This Easter Time

By Carol Blansett

At this time of year when Easter is approaching, I think of a dear, old hymn, ‘Christ Arose.’  I had to go back through several hymnals to find it. It is such a wonderful hymn, beginning slowly and sadly in describing our Lord Jesus Christ lying low in the dark grave, awaiting the coming day when our Father will raise Him from the depths of the grave to reign forever with Him in Heaven.  The song continues to relate the Easter story, rising to a victorious crescendo in the telling of this wonderful encouraging true story from our Father Himself in His Word!

In this is our Hope: Jesus Christ arose! He didn’t stay in the grave! He arose triumphant on the third day, so that no one could say that he had only passed out and didn’t really die. The enemy was sure he had Jesus buried, but Jesus rose with a mighty victory over His foes, a Victor!  He reigns forever, awaiting us, His saints, to join Him.

Remember where the POWER is: it is in the Holy Spirit, our Father in Heaven, Who is able to raise Jesus from the dead to wait for us to dwell with Him in eternity. How powerful is that?  He is ALL powerful!

Are you going to be with Him in eternity? It all boils down to this: What we do with Jesus. . . or what have you done with Him?  Are you sure and secure? Join me in praising God for delivering us from the enemy! We’ve read the end of the Book! Praise His Holy Name that He stands by His Word! We don’t need to wonder if He means it today, or if it was just for yesterday or . . . every other day? Or in the future . . . when does it start taking effect?

Uncertainty? NO! His Word is yesterday, today and forever! It is because time doesn’t matter to Him . . . ! One day with Him is as a thousand years, and a thousand years is as one day . . . He created time . . . and us . . . and wants to have a relationship with you, with me, with each of us as individuals. We can be certain!

Each Christmas and Easter it seems that a new revelation comes from a familiar story that He wants to teach us. Be open to His eye opening truths this year!  God bless you in your growing in faith and love through His Holy Word is my prayer.
